Dr. Kourtney Rivers’ rural childhood fostered a love of all animals; From the array of pets her parents allowed her to care for, to the never-ending stream of orphaned wildlife that she was able to nurture as a child, her passion grew from a young age. After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009, she began her journey as a dedicated veterinarian.
When a family member developed serious health issues that conventional medicine was not able to help, she left no stone unturned as she searched for options to help her loved one. Through her search, she realized that there was a whole field of healing she knew nothing about. In walking alongside this individual and navigating their condition, she realized just how many ways in which a holistic approach could benefit her whole family, including her four-legged companions. Her interest was sealed after a pivotal experience with her own dog and she never looked back.
As a lifelong student of veterinary medicine, Dr, Rivers loves to learn new techniques, treatments, and therapeutic options in the natural health disciplines. Her goal is to improve health care for her patients, optimize their health, and improve their quality of life. Aside from her work in the clinic, she loves spending time gardening, cooking seasonal dishes with her homegrown fruit and vegetables, looking after her small hobby farm, horseback riding, reading the latest biohacking book or spending time with her family & friends. Oh, and cleaning! She is extremely grateful to be a part of the team at North East Newmarket Veterinary Services and looks forward to helping your pet reach optimal health.
